| Friday 10 September Hellvellyn |
Join David Blackmore for a two night stay at Helvellyn Youth Hostel. Approached by a 0.75-mile track from the village of Glenridding, the hostel is in an isolated and peaceful spot, 900 feet above sea level. Enjoy a hike up Helvellyn or the surrounding peaks or, for less strenuous walking, try the scenic lakeshore paths around Ullswater. Join Rachel (01422 846342) for a 11.5 mile hard grade 3 circular walk to Buckden Pike and the peaceful little known Walden valley. Some boggy moorland walking. Meet National park car park, Bucken village (GR 942773). Possible overnight camping option. |

Meet Stephen 3680417 at Menston railway station at 10:30am for a bike ride northwards to Summerbridge and back (approx 35 miles). Taking quiet roads and enjoying the scenery around Fewston & Thruscross reservoirs. |
